AWS Storage Gateway is a hybrid cloud storage service, it connects on-premisses environments with cloud based storage services, making organisations to leverage cloud storage while using their existing on-premisses infrastructure. The use cases include disaster recovery, backup, restore and tiered storage. There are three types of Storage Gateway:
- File Gateway
- Volume Gateway
- Tape Gateway
AWS storage options
AWS Storage Gateway will bridge between on-premise data and cloud data in S3. It allows your on-premise data to seamlessly use AWS cloud services.
