Amazon S3 provides encryption for data stored in the S3 buckets, which is known as sever-side encryption. The customer can encrypt their data on the user-side before uploading it to the cloud.

Sever-side encryption

On the side of AWS, AWS will encrypt the objects in the S3 when they are uploaded to the cloud, the sever-side encryption is default and always on.
